Oak Park at a Glance

Oak Park is an area that lies west of Agoura Hlls, and was first developed in the 1960s. The area is slightly younger than its fellow Conejo Valley neighbors to the west, Westlake Village, and Thousand Oaks; and the community of Oak Park shares the County service that Westlake Village receives.

A History of Oak Park

When the city was first developed, it shared the school services of Simi Valley Unified School District, yet has since created its own Unified School District that supports the public school needs of the area.

Oak Park itself is an area that stands between some of the more renowned planned communities in Southern California. Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, and Agoura Hills all received a ton of media attention due to the fantastic results each of the cities has seen. Each community has worked hard to embrace the cosmopolitan feel of a dense per capita Southern California population, and combine this population concern with the unbelievable natural beauty that this part of the world provides. Oak Park is able to do what its more popular neighboring cities have done on a smaller scale. The real estate of Park is not quite near the median range that its neighbors have, and as a result the inhabitants of Oak Park receive access to many of the area’s fantastic offerings for slightly less money than they would if they lives in any of the nearby cities.
